A sustainable approach

So much has happened in the past year that I haven't yet had the time to talk about it here, so here it is! 2023 marked an important point for me in my practice: I am very proud to announce that last May, I committed to a sustainable approach.
Since nature is at the heart of my artistic practice, reducing my environmental impact was a given. This approach is constantly evolving, a "work in progress" as they say, and I wanted to share with you the challenges I face, but especially the solutions I will put in place, and the small changes I have managed to make in order to make my practice as eco-responsible as possible. My ultimate goal would be to create zero waste ceramics, nothing less! It may be ambitious, but why not think big?
I am fortunate to be supported in this process by the Parcours écoresponsabilité en métiers d'art , offered jointly by the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec and the École des Entrepreneurs du Québec, until May 2024. It has been a lot of learning, and rich and stimulating exchanges so far... All accompanied by important reflections on my current and past work, and on the future of my ceramic practice.
I still have a lot to do and learn, but instead of feeling paralyzed by the mountain of things to accomplish, it is a real creative engine that I have discovered in eco-responsibility. A fertile ground for innovation, which fascinates me and motivates me to continue my research, and to improve things on my scale. Looking forward to talking to you more about it soon!
